Future Faces launches next cohort for its mentoring scheme
Future Faces has officially launched applications for a fifth cohort of their mentoring scheme.
The Future Faces mentoring scheme supports young professional members to develop their career skills and future business aspirations with a mentor in one-to-one sessions once a month over a six month period, either online or in-person.
Applications will close on Monday 2 December 2024.
The scheme is about to enter its third year and has proven to be incredibly popular with its members and the wider business community, with over 300 people being matched together across the mentoring scheme in that time.
The scheme is seeking mentors from a wide range of backgrounds, sectors and industries to support young professionals in the region.
They will have a wealth of experience in sectors such as finance, sales and marketing, start-up and entrepreneurship, education, third-sector, technology and innovation and retail to name but a few – there is also already a significant demand for mentors in the legal sector.
For mentors, the scheme will be an opportunity to give back to the Greater Birmingham business community as well as develop their own skills and share their business insights and knowledge with the next generation of leaders
The mentoring scheme committee is chaired by FF executive committee member Tom Bower, with a team made up of FF executive committee member Jasmine Caine and FF members Leon Thomas, Elizabeth Watt and Molly Crampton.
As applications come into the scheme the team will be working hard to bring forth a fifth cohort of the mentoring scheme to best match mentors and mentees from across various sectors for the benefit of all.
Tom Bower, chair of the Future Face Mentoring Scheme, said: “Mentoring plays a vital role in a young professional’s career development and helps shape them into the next generation of leaders the region has to offer.
“Since the launch of the scheme we have seen members grow and develop, gain promotions, grow their own businesses or projects or given them the confidence to take themselves to the next level.
“We also recently held our Greater Birmingham Young Professional of the Year event where we had award winners who had taken part in the mentoring scheme – showcasing the impact we’ve had since its launch two years ago.
“Alongside this we’ve also had tremendous feedback from mentors who themselves have learned via reserve-mentoring to support and future-proof their own departments and businesses.”
“The mentoring scheme is only able to run thanks to the support of business leaders across the region who volunteer their time to support Future Faces members so we are again calling for you to get behind the scheme and get those mentor applications in.”
You can apply to be a mentor or mentee here until Monday 2 December.
