A consultancy providing expert HR advice to small firms and organisations has established dozens of clients in its first 12 months of operations.

The HR Advice Hub, which celebrates its first anniversary this week, is already working across the charity, hospitality, construction, financial planning, and social and healthcare sectors.

Kiran Najran (pictured), the HR consultancy manager who set the service up, is due to work with clients in the engineering, horticultural and sports sectors as it continues to expand in 2022.

Ms Najran said: “We 've been delighted with our swift expansion in the first year.

“The types of projects we have helped with have included providing day to day HR advice to business owners, implementing new contracts of employment, compiling company handbooks and assisting with all the administration involved in taking on apprentices.

“We have also acted as an independent investigator in disciplinary proceedings, have helped employers deal with grievances, and have assisted with the terms of settlement agreements for departing staff.

“This was a business started during lockdown and it just shows that growing from scratch is a possibility and can be done whatever the challenges.

“We are now looking forward to more success in year two as the UK emerges from lockdown and we take clients in new sectors onto our books. ”

One client who used HR Advice Hub services said: “We were taking on our first apprentice and the help and advice we received was invaluable, professionally and speedily delivered, flagging issues I wasn 't aware of and recommending solutions.

“Kiran was very attentive, kept me fully informed throughout, with all documents prepared in draft for me to approve, and once finalised the full suite was provided for issue. ”

Another client said: “The HR Advice Hub has been absolutely brilliant, and we now have a comprehensive employee handbook. What I love about the service is Kiran's dedication to each organisation's mission and ethos: the HR Advice Hub really took time to understand us and helped with HR policies that are meaningful to us. ”

The HR Advice Hub offers a cost-effective and practical support service aimed at SMEs facing challenging staff issues who don 't necessarily have their own internal HR department.

The venture 's consultancy is provided both on a fixed fee retainer and a “pay as you go ” basis.

Ms Najran added: “Employers face all sorts of new challenges post-Covid, from demands to work partly or fully from home, to dealing with an increase in staff illness and mental health issues.

“Our clients have found it easy to draw on the resources of our cost-effective HR service, offering them peace of mind on all their people issues, with the added benefit of speaking with a team that are also legally qualified. ”

Subscriptions to the HR Advice Hub start from £100 plus VAT a month, rising in accordance with the size of the workforce.
