The Department for International Trade is hosting the UK 's first International Trade week this week with the aims of helping businesses learn more about selling globally and connect them with trade industry experts.

The week (taking place between 15-19 November) will host a range of sector led activities, showcasing events and workshops for businesses of all sizes and sectors across the UK.

The events will promote the department 's new 'Made in the UK, Sold to the World ' campaign which is promoting exciting national opportunity to either start exporting for the first time or expand existing exports.

Harnessing the UK 's exporting potential, the campaign will ensure that businesses with any product or services are aware of the possibilities available to them.

Businesses who are interested in exporting or maximising their growth via exporting are encouraged to take part in the week by building their own programme of events tailored to their interests.

Mandy Haque (pictured), director of the International Business Hub at the Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce (GBCC), will be attending today 's first series of events.

The international team based at the Chamber can provide dedicated support and services for exporters and importers; from established businesses to those who are considering trading overseas for the first time.

As well as being able to tap into the knowledge and experience of international trade, companies can seek assistance with export and import documentation, overseas market information and contacts, interpreting and translation services, training in a variety of subjects plus foreign currency exchange.
