Is AI a substitute for Business Coaching?
Written by Clare Whalley, Meta4 Business Coaching
If you’re anything like me you’ve been pondering the future of AI and the impact it’s going to have on our jobs and businesses.
Whilst a huge fan on some of the technological breakthroughs, for one, in person shopping is a must for me (Amazon, who are they!?) so the automatic scanning of clothes’, rather than scanning each item individually feels like a huge breakthrough. If you’re going to make me work at your store, albeit temporarily, I want it to be easy!
See Pull & Bear and Bershka in Birmingham’s Bullring for brilliant examples of revolutionising the customer experience.
Can AI bring you Confidence and Self-belief?
A creative business owner I work with has used Chat GPT (other AI platforms are available!) to map out the implementation of a new community she has wanted to start for many years. Only now has she been able to take this step because of all the focused work done so far talking through her goals and aspirations, services and price point. Now she has the know-how, confidence and self-belief to set up and lead her community with impact,

So, can AI give you the confidence and self-belief to make big transformations? If you’ve ever learned any new skill involving confidence, you’ll agree, right now, it can’t. Confidence and self-belief are learned skills. Only when practiced, consistently, will you be able to take your confidence fuelled next big steps.
Can AI keep you Accountable to your Goals?
‘It’s good to talk’
I was reminded recently of this iconic advertising slogan used by BT back in the 90’s (My 1st and last corporate job), and whilst it’s nearly 40 years old it rings true today more than ever.
Great business planning happens when you’re able to talk things through with someone who has been where you are now and knows what steps will help you achieve your goals. Where you both develop tangible steps, and you’re kept accountable by regular interactions, to those focused steps being implemented.
Remember AI is being fed by humans and will continue to be. And just like when the telephone, the motor car, the computer first came in, humans were nervous and sceptical about change.
Embracing, and being curious about change is our best approach to AI and what’s in store…
