MetFilm School visit inspires Solihull learners
Media and Film learners at Solihull Sixth Form College visited Digbeth’s MetFilm School in Birmingham recently to get an insight into the city’s thriving film and television industry.
Young people on the A level Film Studies, A level Media Studies and BTEC Creative Digital Media Production courses spent the day at MetFilm School to inspire the next generation of creatives by offering insight into the range of opportunities available in the film and television sectors.
Students took part in a hands-on, industry-led agenda that included a working set workshop, a tour of the professional facilities and a unique 10-shot music video challenge, which was screened at the end of the day.
As part of the experience, learners had the chance to meet MetFilm School lecturers, who are active professionals in the TV and Film industry. The event provided a realistic glimpse into how the Film and TV world operates, and what pathways are available for those looking to enter it.
