It's not business as usual every day at the Chamber!

Behind the plethora of documentations, translations, events, magazines, and the umpteen number of calls given by our relationship managers, there is still a time for fun and enjoyment at our workplace.

During this ‘National Fun at Work' day, we welcome our readers to have a glance behind the curtain and know more about what the Chamber does to engage and improve the presence and wellbeing of both our employees and our members.

A company is known by the people it keeps.

The Chamber shares the values of being committed to customers and being collaborative to create a positive working life and influence behaviour at all levels, both internally and externally.

This led to the formation of the Employee Engagement Group (EEG). The role of this group is to connect, support, and grow the employees of the Chamber while making the workplace engaging and inclusive.

The team, which was formed in 2018, comprises of one representative from each department and has been pivotal in bringing employees together by organising summer socials, Diwali celebrations, Halloween ‘scares', games and bake off afternoon, and a Christmas party with a secret Santa!

Kate Warnaby, executive assistant to the CEO, is the Chair of EEG. She said: “It is an honour and a privilege to be part of a group who are actively engaging and encouraging colleagues to spend quality time together while also raising money for our chosen three charities Cancer Research, Mind and NSPCC.

“The EEG acts on behalf of the staff to engage with the senior executive team regarding staff wellbeing, general suggestions and feedback .

“The team's role was pivotal during the Covid days where most of us were working from home and the team was able to plan fun activities online. During the past year, we have organised many different fun activities, including a very popular staff ballot for Commonwealth Games tickets and this week an outing to the pantomime!”

The ‘Dream Team' of marketing and events

Alongside the EEG, the Chamber also has a designated events and marketing team to plan various events happening throughout the year for our members.

Known as ‘The Dream Team' in their planning whiteboard, the team looks after all Chamber marketing and events including five flagship awards celebrations.
