New-look team delivering Chamber marketing and events

Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce has a new-look marketing and events team following a raft of appointments.

Led by head of marketing, events and digital Paula Bates, the team delivers the GBCC 's vast events programme as well as a host of marketing, website and digital activities.

Paula, who joined the Chamber from University College Birmingham, has more than 20 years ' experience in a wide range of marketing, events management and communications disciplines.

She spent around 18 years working in the education sector.

Paula said: “It 's an exciting time to join the Chamber and to work with such a strong team. New digital projects in the pipeline and the continued delivery of our impressive events programme, will build on the work of the Chamber and ensure members and stakeholders remain at the heart of everything we do. ”

Meanwhile, Nick Allen has been appointed as digital marketing and CRM manager.

Nick has spent 15 years working in digital marketing across various brands and projects - including as project manager for an innovative conferencing menu selector and an award-winning Java script-based game.

Jemima Rutherford has joined the team as senior marketing and events executive, with responsibility for organising and delivering networking events across the Chamber 's Sutton Coldfield, Lichfield, Tamworth, Burton, Cannock Chase and Asian Business divisions.

She previously spent three years in the events team at the Industry and Parliament Trust in Westminster, running events for businesses and parliamentarians.

Khadija Guess has been appointed as marketing and events assistant, having just graduated from Aston University where she studied business and management.

The new starters join marketing manager Jinna Sidhu, senior marketing and events executive Grace Morgan and marketing and events assistant Demi Philbin.

Jinna, who has 17 years ' experience in the marketing industry, plans and implements multi-channel campaigns for the Chamber 's membership, policy, new business and international departments.

Grace, who previously worked at Birmingham 's Hippodrome theatre as well as Dains Accountants and Gately Legal, helps the Chamber deliver exhibitions, large-scale awards dinners and conferences.

Demi 's role involves planning and delivering a range of Chamber events, to marketing campaigns a number of the organisation 's products and services and planning and scheduling content for social media channels.

Katrina Cooke, chief commercial officer at the GBCC, said: “We 're delighted to welcome the new members of the team, who bring with them a wealth of skills across their different roles.

“I 'm looking forward to working with them and for members to starting getting to know them at our forthcoming events. ”
