Nominations open for Solihull Chamber executive council
The Solihull Chamber of Commerce is actively seeking individuals who are passionate about the Solihull business community to join its executive council.
The Chamber is looking for applicants with a drive to make a positive impact and contribute to building a more robust business community.
The announcement of successful candidates is scheduled to take place at the Solihull Chamber’s upcoming annual general meeting on Friday 22 March from 10 am to 12 pm at Hogarth’s hotel. The event is free to attend.
The meeting includes a review of the Chamber’s activities and achievements during the last 12 months and also the election of members to the Chamber’s executive council.
Applicants who wish to be a part of the executive council can fill out a nomination form by clicking here.
The nomination papers give applicants the opportunity to nominate themselves or others to the Executive Council.
The Council provides the Chamber with valuable feedback, which influences its strategy and business plan. It also provides representatives to other groups and committees in Solihull, Birmingham and the West Midlands and is a forum to ensure that the voice of Solihull business is heard locally and regionally.

There are four vacancies for election to the executive council:
Andy Cole and Stuart Watson have both served a 2-year term and, under the constitution, will retire at the AGM, or they can offer themselves for re-election.
Susie Ankrett and Vijay Jogia have also completed their 2-year term as Vice Presidents and, under the constitution, will retire at the AGM, or offer themselves for re-election.
If nominations do not exceed the number of vacancies, positions will automatically be filled and will be announced at the AGM.
If there are more candidates than vacancies, an online ballot will take place in advance of the AGM in accordance with the constitution, of which the outcome will be announced at the AGM.
Members wishing to be considered for election to any of the above positions must complete and sign the nomination form and must obtain a signature of a proposer and seconder.
Nominated individuals, proposers and seconders must be members of the Solihull Chamber of Commerce.
Candidates are asked to submit a personal profile of no more than 200 words together with their nomination paper. This profile will be used in the event of an online ballot.
Nomination papers can be returned to Samantha Frampton, Head of the Solihull Chamber of Commerce, via email s.frampton@solihull-chamber.com.
The deadline for nominations is Friday 16 February 2024.
Speaking about the Executive Council and the upcoming AGM, Samantha Frampton (pictured) said: “I would like to take this opportunity to encourage Solihull members to think about nominating themselves or a fellow member to sit on the council.
“The Solihull Chamber Council represents the interests and concerns of all our members from start-up's, SME's, to large organisations covering all sectors, whilst promoting the chamber services in their day-to-day business wherever possible and actively encouraging membership”.
