Nominations sought for Chamber employees’ chosen charity

Employees of Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce (GBCC) are on the lookout for a charity to support during 2026 through various fundraising initiatives.

Charities who are members of the Chamber and operating in Birmingham are invited to nominate themselves by filling out a form.

GBCC employees will then vote on their preferred charity which will be announced over the coming weeks.

The nominated charity can spread awareness through the Chamber channels including newsletters and social media.

Chamber employees are also keen on engaging in volunteering days, organising fundraising events and creating awareness through their networks.

GBCC raised over £1,000 during 2025 for Cash4Kids – a charity that improves the lives of disadvantaged children and young people in communities who are affected by poverty.

Some of the fundraising activities included a Chamber run, an honesty tuckbox, and employee raffles. These were organised by the GBCC Environmental Social & Governance Group (ESG).

ESG chair and GBCC executive office manager Kate Warnaby said: “Choosing a staff charity is about more than fundraising alone.

“It’s about giving our colleagues a shared focus for doing good, supporting organisations that are making a real difference in Birmingham, and using our collective voice to help shine a light on vital causes.

“We’re keen to hear from charities who would benefit from our time, energy and networks, whether that’s through volunteering, events or awareness-raising.

“After the fantastic commitment shown by colleagues in 2025, we’re excited to build on that momentum in the year ahead.”

The deadline to apply is Friday, 27 February.
