Röhlig Logistics attend WCRF event following successful partnership
Team members from Röhlig Logistics recently attended a World Cancer Research Fund (WCRF) event at the Emmanuel Centre in Westminster.
The event was hosted to raise awareness of the charity's work in cancer prevention and research.
Röhlig Logistics was invited to the event by Sarah-Jane Hill, Fundraising Partnerships manager at WCRF, after Röhlig had donated to the charity as part of its "Röhlig Charity" programme in July 2021.
The project allowed each country within the firm to vote for a charity of their choice, with WCRF receiving £5,000 from Röhlig UK Ltd.
WCRF presenters included Rachael Gormley, CEO of World Cancer Research Fund, and Dr Helen Croker, head of Research Interpretation, who discussed the impact of nutrition and lifestyle on cancer risk and the importance of supporting their research.
Röhlig Logistics was represented at the event by Rachael Longley, regional HR manager - North Europe, and Rory Pickin, Sales and Marketing assistant. They were taken aback by the WCRF team's dedication and passion and felt honoured to have been invited to the event.
Rachael Longley, regional head of HR at Röhlig Logistics, said: "Supporting WCRF is a cause close to our hearts, and we are proud to have been able to contribute towards their efforts. Attending this event has provided us with a better understanding of the impact of our contribution to cancer research and prevention."
The event was a success and Röhlig Logistics plans to continue supporting WCRF and its initiatives in the future.
