The fourth week of a major leadership and people management campaign delivered by Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce gets underway today.

Growth Through People is an annual campaign designed to help firms boost productivity through improved leadership and people management skills.

It has been taking place throughout March.

Coming up in the fourth week of the campaign are two webinars.

The first, tomorrow, focuses on Harnessing Resilience for Future Challenges.

It is led by Dr Phillip McCrea (pictured), chief medical officer at BHSF and Nathan Wallis, chief of staff at Wesleyan.

The events of the past year have taken a toll on the physical and mental wellbeing of millions.

This webinar will explore how delegates and their business can establish an effective, long-term framework and approach with whatever resources they have available, to support employees.

Philip is an expert in occupational health and has 28 years' experience of working full-time in occupational health.

He has been a consultant in occupational medicine to more than 1,000 corporate clients and has extensive experience in the management of mental health issues in the workplace, specifically stress-related illness.

Nathan has more than a decade of corporate communications and colleague engagement experience working across HR, media relations and internal communications.

He has experience in multiple industries from financial services (Wesleyan, HBOS), public services (Amey plc) and the civil service (Highways England).

A father of three with a keen interest in the education sector, Nathan has won awards for change management communications and is a recognised industry speaker.

The second Growth Through People webinar this week will take place on 24 March.

This session, focused on Leading for Growth, will be led by Anne Clews, head of people solutions, and Stuart Bailey, head of people transformation at Curium Solutions.

This webinar will share best practice advice from Curium Solutions who have fostered an agile and innovative workforce culture, able to rapidly adapt and react to unexpected circumstances.

During this 90 minute interactive workshop Curium 's experts will share stories, ideas and tips to help prevent change fatigue and build organisational resilience.

Growth Through People will end with a virtual conference on 30 March.

The online conference will focus on topical leadership and people management challenges following the impacts of Brexit and Covid-19, featuring keynote addresses from Jess Phillips MP and Baroness Ruby McGregor-Smith CBE on empowering individuals to reach their full potential and authentic leadership in times of change.

It will also feature practical workshops and thought provoking panel discussions, and provide an opportunity to network with other local leaders, managers and decision makers from businesses looking to grow through the adoption of new, best-practice ideas.

Both the conference and virtual events are free for Chamber members.

Aston University, BMet College and the University of Birmingham 's Work Inclusivity Research Centre (WIRC) are headline sponsors of Growth Through People 2021.
