Software solutions firm help develop Burton Barrel Roll app
Haywyre, a creative software solutions company, has collaborated with the development of the Burton Barrel Roll app for Making Trails.
The app was designed to enhance the visitor experience of the Burton Barrel Roll art trail.
The firm first created an app for Making Trails in 2020 for the Burton Swans trail.
The Burton Barrel Roll is their fourth trail app and has been met with great enthusiasm.
Making Trails creates public art trails across the UK, raising awareness of the benefits of art in public spaces. These trails not only attract more visitors to the area, but also foster community interaction and encourage people to explore their local towns.
Every trail is a unique experience, enriched by a customised iOS and Android app, created by the Haywyre team.
These user-friendly apps guide visitors to the sculptures, provide additional visitor information, and offer rewards, enhancing the overall experience.
This latest trail - the Burton Barrel Roll - featured 14 brewing barrels designed by local and national artists displayed across Burton on Trent.
Funded partially by Staffordshire Borough Council’s Ward Enhancement Program and from local businesses, the trail was a celebration of community and creativity.
The team at Haywyre was able to create a fresh design that complements the theme while maintaining the Making Trails brand app identity.
Some notable features of the app include an interactive map to help locate all sculptures, information of the sculptures, fun rewards for and a sculpture gallery.
Speaking about the app, an employee of Making Trails said: “Haywyre were so easy to work with; knowledgeable, patient, helpful and extremely professional.
“I have loved working with the team and wouldn’t hesitate to use their services again.”
