Theme park pledges key support for Midlands corporate community initiative
Internationally-renowned theme park Drayton Manor Park has pledged key support for a West Midland-based corporate community initiative.
The Staffordshire-based park has signed up as a Business Community Connector with a bespoke Facebook page put together by scheme organisers Community Together CIC.
The project allows interested parties to see the valuable community work, services, connections, and support local businesses give to communities, recognising them as Community Hubs.
As one of Tamworth 's largest employers and a world-renowned theme park, Drayton Manor is seen as community in itself and part of the fabric of Tamworth.
The community initiative is a free scheme for local businesses. Organisations which sign up get a directory of Community Services (regularly updated every three months) with electronic and hard copies available.
Lee Bates, chief operating officer for Community Together CIC, whose organisation launched the scheme, said: “We are super-excited that Drayton Manor have come on board with the new scheme. We don 't always recognise businesses as community hubs, with all the customers they see day in day out.
“Caring for staff teams and their customer base fulfilling corporate social responsibility obligations is important and the Business Community Connector Scheme is a quick easy way of doing both.
“It allows teams to connect with support and early intervention before situations get to crisis point. This can contribute to increasing stress and anxiety which can lead to time off work but by getting support earlier removing the pressures from a stressful situation. It also allows front-facing services to connect and support their customers too with light signposting through conversations that they have. ”
To become part of the Network, firms can search on Facebook under 'Business Community Connectors ' and sign up or call free on 0808 175 4041
