Titan adapts support to engage with schools virtually

Titan Partnership - a charitable organisation which aims to transform the life chances of young people across Birmingham - has been engaging with local schools online during the pandemic.

The organisation works with schools in a number of ways, such as linking them with employers to support their careers education programmes.

Due to the pandemic and not being able to physically visit schools, Titan has adapted its support to ensure that it can still engage with schools virtually.

Chief executive Carolyn Chapman-Lees (pictured) said: “As an employer, there has never been a better time to engage with your local community.

“More than ever, young people need support with careers advice and your support can help them have access to the world of work. ”

Mock interviews, careers presentations and even work experience can all be carried out online and schools are keen to ensure their students still have meaningful encounters with employers.

Titan has been developing short, work-based projects that students can participate in online.

The charity also helps firms engage virtually with schools, including brokering relationships and providing advice on how best to connect with young people.

In addition, Titan runs an 'Employer Forum ' three times a year, where businesses can network with other employers and find out more about best practice in engaging with schools.
