Talking us through winning the Greater Birmingham Young Professional of the Year award in Sales, Marketing and Communications is Tom Green.

What is your name, and what is your role and your place of work?

My name is Tom Green, and I am operations manager at T&Pm (previously mSix&Partners).

Were you nominated by someone else for an award, or did you nominate yourself, and why?

I was nominated by a colleague at work who wanted to recognise the work that I was doing.
 

How did you find the application and interview process?

Straightforward. Had a lot to talk about during the interview and the time slot is short so preparation was key to making sure each question was answered.

How did it feel to win your award?

Proud. As I’ve progressed in my career, what I’ve found is that fewer people congratulate you on doing a good job – as this just becomes expected. So, for there to be a moment to recognise that I’m doing something good was lovely.

What impact did winning your award have on your career?

Limited impact on my career, but certainly greater profile across my business and, to some extent, the region.

What advice would you give to those applying for the Greater Birmingham Young Professional of the Year Awards 2024?

Take the plunge! Put yourself out there and enjoy reflecting on your own successes. Don’t hide away from the good work that you’ve done.
