Training group highlights apprenticeship week
Top Midland training group BCTG has planned a surge in activity during National Apprenticeship Week this week to attract extra audiences to its jobs and courses.
BCTG 's specialist organisations Performance Through People (PTP) and The Apprenticeship Works (TAW) are running a series of targeted social media posts linking to online videos, information about apprenticeship vacancies and courses, and even a competition to win AirPods.
The week will allow BCTG to show how it offers 166 different types of apprenticeship, 84 different adult upskilling and reskilling courses and 27 pre-apprenticeship programmes for 16 to 18-year-olds.
The work areas involved are as diverse as healthcare, early years care, construction, engineering, manufacturing and logistics, business skills in IT, management and team leading.
PTP will be sharing stories of individuals and employers who have benefited from its apprenticeships, with links to videos telling various apprentices ' success stories.
The organisation will also be running various online sessions including 'Employer Q&A ' and 'Meet an apprentice ', with presentations by PTP 's leaders.
Rob Colbourne, managing director of PTP, said: “National Apprenticeships Week is a great opportunity for training groups like ours to both celebrate apprenticeships and to draw more applicants for our vacancies and courses.
“As well as our own activity, the week will see more than 1,200 virtual and in-person events across England to showcase the impact of apprenticeships. ”
Social media activity at TAW will also link to testimonial videos from apprentices and employers, with a different sector represented on each day of the week.
TAW is also running sessions explaining various traineeships available for different age groups, and it will be present at the online Festival of Apprenticeship, an online careers fair from 1 to 1.30pm today.
The organisation will also be running a competition with daily quiz posts going into a draw to win AirPods, with the winner announced on Friday 11 February.
Lisa Kelly (pictured), head of TAW and the business development lead for BCTG, said: “We 're excited to be taking a full part in National Apprenticeship Week 2022.
“The theme is 'build the future', which gives us the perfect opportunity to reflect on how apprenticeships can help individuals to develop the knowledge required for a rewarding career, and businesses to grow a talented workforce equipped with future-ready skills. ”
