A webinar designed to support educators in preparing students for the fast-changing world of work is being held by Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce.

Sponsored by Birmingham Careers Hub, the webinar will feature insights from volunteer enterprise advisors on their experiences supporting local educators in the development and implementation of their careers strategies.

Employer engagement in education helps to broaden young peoples ' horizons and raise their aspirations, increase learner confidence, challenge gender and social stereotypes, improve academic attainment and increase young people's earning potential.

This webinar will feature insights from volunteer enterprise advisors, Daniel Hickman, director of operations at Jacobs and Kerry Amory, social value manager, IM Properties Plc, on the importance of employer insights in the delivery of effective careers advice.

Daniel Hickman has experience in business development and operational delivery, setting direction of multi-disciplinary teams to promote growth and deliver results.

He has worked in a variety of sectors throughout his career, spanning the regulated water and energy markets, environmental and flood risk management, transport, local authorities and Government agencies.

Kerry Amory has been with IM Properties since 2018 and has been an enterprise advisor for the City of Birmingham Schools, Birmingham City Council 's Pupil Referral Unit, since January 2020.

The focus is to provide opportunities which students ' may not have been able to access in their mainstream setting.

Since joining IM, Kerry 's role has evolved and she now manages all social value activities across the business.

As part of IM 's sustainable futures strategy, she focuses on partnering in the communities in which IM develop, working closely with local, grassroot organisations, school and charities to help create positive change and support projects and people in those local areas.
