The Chamber is hosting a panel discussion with senior business leaders on how to encourage learning at work through further education.

Learning at Work Week is an annual opportunity to put a spotlight on the importance and benefits of continual learning and development in the workplace.

The panel discussion will feature clients from each of our Further Education patrons from Greater Birmingham Chambers and its divisional Chambers.

Chaired by Solihull Chamber vice president and founder and CEO of Digital INnov8tors, Mick Westman, a panel of business leaders will discuss their experiences of developing skills and talent through their partnerships with Further Education providers.

Panellists include Stuart Watson, managing director, Leap IT Ltd and Roger Tice, group managing director, Richter, who work with Solihull College and University Centre and South and City College Birmingham respectively, to facilitate learning within their businesses.

Stuart has had a career in IT since leaving school at the age of 16, working in the finance sector at various banking organisations to the last 20 years running Leap IT, a business he setup from scratch in 2001.

Leapt IT was shortlisted for the Barclays Bank Entrepreneur of the Year award in 2018 and has grown to 20 full time staff and a turnover of £2Million

Roger is a Chartered Civil Engineer and Fellow of 'The Institution of Civil Engineers' with overall responsibility for a group of engineering design consultancies that specialises in temporary works and technical services to building / civil engineering contractors.

Richter provides first class engineering design solutions to construction projects associated with buildings, bridges, geotechnical, marine, refurbishment, rail, infrastructure and demolition.

This panel discussion will take place on Thursday 20 May (8am to 9am).
