A fast-growing website for women is offering a free 30-minute session to raise awareness of menopause within the workplace.

The session will see Julie Glyn-Jones from Henpicked Menopause in the Workplace provide short introductory advice on the need to talk about the menopause and its effects for women at work.

Julie will also discuss what the menopause is, its effects on individuals and key ways of managing the condition. The session includes a 20-minute presentation and a 10-minute Q and A opportunity.

Henpicked describes itself as “one of the UK 's fastest-growing websites for women who weren 't born yesterday. We 're here to give women a place to have their say, sparking discussion, promoting healthy debate and, we hope, bringing about positive change. ”

The website session is backed by the West Midlands Combined Authority 's Thrive at Work initiative, which aims to create a workplace which promotes employee health and wellbeing.

Tracey Norman, Thrive at Work Engagement Officer, said those interested in the website session can register for free HERE. Any questions should be directed to [email protected]

Thrive at Work is described as a “workplace commitment with criteria and guidelines on creating a workplace that promotes employee health wellbeing. ”

It focuses on 'key organisational enablers of health such as attendance management, policies and procedures in addition to health areas such as mental, musculoskeletal and physical health and promoting healthy lifestyles. ”
