Solihull-based charity SoLO Life Opportunities recently appointed Jayne Hume, relationship manager at the Greater Birmingham Chamber of Commerce, to their board of trustees.

SoLO Life Opportunities aim to empower people with learning disabilities to achieve their full potential and encourage their integration in society, by providing activities in a safe and experienced environment.

The charity was Solihull Chamber of Commerce 's Charity of the Year for 2022-23. With Jayne 's appointment to the board of trustees, SoLO hopes to continue their legacy of association with the GBCC, maintain the connections and network they have grown over their time as Solihull Chamber members.

Speaking on her appointment, Jayne (pictured) said: “I am delighted to be joining the Board of Trustees at SoLO to support the immensely important work the charity does. It will be a privilege to contribute my skills and experience to be able to build on the legacy of SoLO being a former Chamber charity and seeing the impact their projects in the borough. ”

Jan Prior, chair of SoLO Life Opportunities, said: “SoLO is delighted to welcome Jayne Hume to its board of trustees. Jayne brings an additional range of skills from her wealth of experience, to complement those of existing trustees and it strengthens the connections of SoLO, a leading charity in Solihull, supporting people with Learning Disabilities with the Chamber following its year as Charity of the Year.

“We can offer others trustee opportunities as we still have space for a couple more people and welcome ongoing applications. It's an incredibly rewarding experience as SoLO makes a positive difference to so many lives. ”
