What specific challenges did your business face before joining, and how has our support helped you overcome them?
Since its opening in 2018, Edgbaston Park Hotel and Conference Centre has been proud to be a member of the Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce. As a newly established independent hotel at the time, we quickly identified the need to build brand awareness and a positive reputation within the local marketplace to support with interest and footfall to the hotel and conference centre. The Chamber relationship has been instrumental in supporting us throughout our journey by fostering valuable connections, promoting collaboration, and keeping us informed with the latest news, topics, and insights.
Our account manager, Jim Bourne, has introduced us to key Chamber members, helping us create new connections, including with West Midlands Trains, who supported the opening of the University train station earlier this year. Additionally, we have been proud to host breakfast meetings, festive lunches, and roundtable events, creating opportunities to welcome decision-makers, share best practices, and engage in discussions about challenges with the wider Chamber community.

The Chamber has supported the growth and development of Edgbaston Park Hotel by fostering collaboration and encouraging more visitors to the hotel.
This partnership has enabled us to consistently provide exceptional facilities for hosting Chamber events while also leveraging the member website to promote hotel offers, share updates, and publish press releases. With the Chamber’s support, our many achievements and accolades have been highlighted, such as earning a gold award with ECOsmart, receiving a Green Meetings Gold Award from Green Tourism, and launching our new Green Meetings Package. The hotel was also fortunate enough to be awarded ‘Excellence in Hospitality, Retail & Events’ at The Chamber of Commerce Awards in 2022, being recognised for the contribution we made to the community during the pandemic.

These barriers hindered our ability to reach potential partners and secure essential resources.
Since joining, the Chamber’s support has been transformative. It has connected us with local businesses, raised our profile, and boosted our fundraising efforts. This has directly strengthened our mission to help unpaid carers lead fulfilling lives.
The Chamber has provided a vital platform to amplify our voice and forge impactful partnerships within our community, culminating in winning the Excellence in the Third Sector award and a nomination for the GBCC Award. This connection led to a powerful collaboration, driving our 'Hidden Carers in the Workplace' campaign with their full support.
How has membership of the Chamber contributed to the growth or development of your business?
A standout success story is our partnership with U B Healthcare, NHS Funded Care Experts. Our missions align perfectly, as U B Healthcare’s focus on wellbeing and community health resonates deeply with our goal of supporting unpaid carers. Through their financial support, professional expertise, and time, U B Healthcare has been instrumental in driving our 'Hidden Carers in the Workplace' campaign.
This initiative urges employers to identify and support employees with caring responsibilities by providing resources and encouraging greater awareness. Their commitment extends beyond funding, as they actively amplify our message through their social media channels, greatly enhancing our visibility. One of the most impactful outcomes of our membership has been the interlinks created with the West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA). By engaging with the WMCA through GBCC. In 2020, during the challenging early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, we collaborated with WMCA (via GBCC) on a significant project that had a transformative impact on our business. As a local business navigating unprecedented uncertainty, this initiative provided us with a platform to support other businesses and individuals facing employment challenges.
By leveraging our expertise and the Chamber's network, we not only sustained our operations but also reinforced our commitment to the community. This experience solidified our position as a trusted workforce partner on that project, ensuring businesses in the region continued to access the talent they needed to recover and grow.

Kington Grange
What specific challenges did your business face before joining, and how has our support helped you overcome them?
Kington Grange is a 16th century manor house but with an under-utilised converted barn. We decided to put the barn to commercial use as a multifunctional venue. The aim being to use as an inspirational venue for Board meetings, training events, Client meetings and Team building.
At the start of our business journey (late 2022), we were new owners of the property, new to the area and new to hospitality.
Kington Grange was an unknown! Solihull Chamber team and my Relationship Manager, Jayne Hume, have been amazing in providing a genuine warm welcome, 1-2-1 introductions and access to a wide range of events to both put Kington grange on the map and connect with a range of like-minded businesses.

What’s it like partnering with Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce? Fabulous and here’s why; speaker opportunity on BBC West Midlands News talking about the US election, being part of the Chamber’s media campaign which ran for 6 weeks - we've been on Sky TV, billboards across Birmingham, and social media, plus I recently participated in a chamber panel discussion about the US election. I can't think how much that coverage is worth in marketing costs!
We’ve worked very closely with the Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce since 2016 in a conscious effort to raise our profile across the Midlands.
Today, we are working with local businesses like Bentley, Birmingham Airport, Halfords plc, Headlam plc, JLR, National Express and Rolls Royce - all within a 50-mile radius of Birmingham.
The Chamber team and Curium have spent many hours building our relationship, which continues to flourish.

Membership has given us a platform to elevate our profile and increased opportunities to connect with local businesses to showcase our first-class approach to workplace wellbeing services. For example, through Chamber events and networking platforms, we’ve cultivated partnerships that have directly led to new contracts and collaborative projects, such as bespoke resilience training we delivered for Chase Terrace Academy Trust as well as a variety of CPD sessions for the Chamber staff themselves!
Another significant impact has been the enhanced visibility of our services. The Chamber's marketing support and events have amplified our reach, helping us attract organisations who resonate with our mission to provide a suite of local well-being services in the workplace.
Finally, membership has given us invaluable business insights, resources, and support. This guidance has helped us refine our strategies and strengthen our presence as leaders in Employee Assistance in the region.

Christmas cards from local artist help businesses create impact with their customers this Christmas!
Love2dream owner and member of Lichfield and Tamworth Chamber, Jackie Roberts is celebrating as thousands of her Christmas cards are being opened by people across the region and further afield.
Featuring recognisable drawings of local towns and Cities, Jackie’s Christmas cards incorporate key buildings and landmarks with traditional Christmas features to create a really captivating Christmas scene. Jackie had focussed her designs on areas covered by Greater Birmingham Chamber of Commerce Divisions, including Birmingham, Solihull, Sutton Coldfield, Burton upon Trent, Lichfield and Tamworth. Her Corporate Christmas cards have been ordered by members across our Divisions and Jackie is also selling her cards through contacts she made at our networking events.
Jackie’s Leamington Spa Christmas card design has even featured in a children’s colouring competition from a chance meeting at the Greater Birmingham Business Expo in October!
Jackie will be adding more designs to her Christmas cards next year and they are the perfect way to make a real impact with your customers. Jackie said; “People don’t receive as many Christmas cards as they used to which is actually great news, as it means businesses can use these colourful cards to make their company really stand out!”.
Fellow GBCC member, John Moore, sent cards out from his business, Fruition Accountancy last year and told us; “Each year we like to personalise our Christmas cards to show something about our identity as a business. Last year we asked Jackie to come up with a design that embedded the location of our two offices in Lichfield and Stratford. We were delighted with the result and a number of clients commented on our great cards”.
Jackie can be contacted by email jackie@love2dream.co.uk and you can follow her work on social media using @love2dreamdesigns or on her website www.love2dream.co.uk.
