What motivated you to join the Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce?
After a decade working outside of Birmingham, in London & Toronto, I was keen to return and set up my business to help SMEs in the Midlands. The Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce provided a perfect introduction to Birmingham's thriving business community and provided loads of networking opportunities to meet and get advice from local business leaders.
Can you share a specific instance where Chamber membership directly benefited your business?
When I first joined the Chamber, I completed the Small Business Academy programme. The course was broken into chunks over 6 months, and really helped me to build momentum in my first year. Since then, I've kept in touch with other start-ups who attended the course.
How has the Chamber helped you connect with other businesses or clients?
The Chamber provides lots of different ways to connect with businesses across the region - there is an event type for everyone.
Speed Networking was perfect in my first year as it helped me to focus on my offering and get out and speak to businesses.
More recently, I've attended the Small Business Academy and Networking Lunches - which are always good fun!
What have you achieved as a result of becoming a member?
The Chamber has provided me with advice, networking opportunities and introductions to some exciting and innovative businesses in the Midlands region.
Why would you recommend the Chamber to other businesses?
I would recommend the Chamber to businesses as the community is unmatched - there is a diverse range of members and huge reach from across the Midland's region.
There are loads of opportunities to network with businesses, get advice and also share your own expertise and exciting updates with the community.
