What motivated you to join the Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce?

As an established firm, we wanted to strengthen our presence in the Birmingham business community. While we had built a solid foundation, we recognised the need to expand our local network, increase our visibility, and connect with potential clients in a more engaged way. We were motivated by a desire to become a more active part of the local business community, and Chamber membership offered the ideal opportunity to build those deeper connections.

How has the Chamber helped you connect with other businesses or clients?

As active participants in the Chamber's networking events and expos, we've been able to significantly expand our professional network within the local business community. These events provide a structured yet welcoming environment to connect with other business owners, potential clients, and partners. The Chamber's organising and hosting of these events has made it easier for us to maintain and grow our business relationships throughout the year.hrough networking especially the breakfast events with the 1813 club and building genuine relationships. It’s opened doors to new business opportunities, collaborations, and given me exposure to a wide range of industries across the city.

What have you achieved as a result of becoming a member?

Since joining the Chamber, we've expanded our professional network , formed valuable business partnerships, and won new clients through connections made at Chamber events. Our brand visibility in the community has also grown as a result of our membership.
We're still assessing the full ROI of our membership, as many of these relationships are continuing to develop. However, we recognise that building a strong business network is a long-term investment.

Why would you recommend the Chamber to other businesses?

Wilkes would recommend the Chamber to businesses committed to being active members of their local community. The relationship-building opportunities are excellent, and membership significantly increases your brand awareness locally. For us, it's been more than just networking it aligns with our values of supporting the local business community and has provided valuable staff development experiences. Any business looking to establish deeper roots in the area and connect authentically with other local businesses would benefit from membership.
