£1,000 raised for foundation by classic car tour
More than £1,000 has been raised for the Community Foundation for Staffordshire, by supporters of a classic car tour.
Seventy iconic cars cruised around Staffordshire as part of the Cannock Chase Classic Car Tour, backed by Lichfield-based First Class Technologies and the Rotary Club Lichfield.
The event was put together to celebrate the easing of Covid-19 restrictions, and to promote Lichfield businesses.
The tour was led away by local Mat Evans in his grandfather 's 1934 MG-TA.
TV personality and auctioneer Charles Hanson was on hand to flag crews away from The Bowling Green Public House, where they then went on to visit the Wall Roman site, Barr Beacon, Sutton Park, National Memorial Arboretum, Alrewas, Blithfield reservoir followed by a route around Cannock Chase, finishing at Bishton Hall, Wolseley Bridge.
Cash raised for the Community Foundation will go towards local causes across Staffordshire and Shropshire.
