Brand and web agency PLOTT Creative will joining fellow Sutton Coldfield Chamber members for a charity cycling challenge next week - having already achieved their fundraising goal.

The Cycle4Sepsis event takes place in the Gracechurch shopping centre on Tuesday to mark World Sepsis Day.

The event is being organised by the Chamber 's Charity of the Year, the UK Sepsis Trust.

In the UK, 48,000 lives are lost to sepsis related illnesses every year - yet for many patients, it is easily treatable with early diagnosis.

The UK Sepsis Trust was founded 10 years ago, so this year 's fundraising activities have the number 10 as a theme.

Ten teams will take part over 10 hours, with a £10,000 fundraising target.

PLOTT managing director Anna Plotnek said: “I 'm really grateful to all those who 've given so far, and a huge thank you to all those chamber members who have supported the cause or are taking part.

“A special thanks goes to Claire Greenwood of G Comms who gave us a big boost with a very generous donation.

“Hopefully we 're not done yet, there 's still plenty of time to sponsor us. Please dig deep if you can. ”

The UK Sepsis Trust was founded at Good Hope Hospital by intensive care specialist Dr Ron Daniels.

The charity exists to fight this life-threatening condition, stop preventable deaths and support those affected by sepsis.

Brian Davies, fundraising manager at UKST, said: “The event grows year on year and we 're always so humbled by those people who take part. Whether that 's donating their time, effort or hard-earned money. All of us at The UK Sepsis Trust are grateful to you all.

“Please drop by and support the teams as they Cycle4Sepsis. It's a fantastic event which will raise vital awareness and much needed funds. ”
