£25m funding pot to develop 'transformational ' projects

Businesses who are looking to develop innovative and disruptive ideas can now apply for a share of a £25m funding pot.

Innovate UK are on the hunt for transformative and game-changing organisations with commercially viable and ground-breaking ideas who may be eligible for Smart Ggrants.

Innovate UK - part of UK Research and Innovation - has released £25m worth of funding and has opened a portal to received applications.

Applications close on 25 August.

In particular, Innovate UK, is looking for technological projects that are ready to scale and grow, will be transformative and benefit society as a whole as well as the economy.

This could be through a new product, process or service.

To be eligible projects must meet the following criteria:

• Must last between six to 18 months
• Include at least one micro, small or medium-sized enterprise (SME)
• Start by February 2022 and end by January 2025.
