£7.5m neighbourhood centre completed at Blythe Valley

Work has been completed constructing a new £7.5million neighbourhood centre at Blythe Valley Park (BVP) in Solihull.

Situated adjacent to BVP 's Virgin Active Gym, IM Properties, which owns the park, says that the new centre is a key element of their placemaking strategy, creating a wide range of community assets to connect and enhance the residential and commercial developments at the park.

As part of other developments at BVP, more than 750 new homes are currently being built by Bloor Homes and Crest Nicholson, with affordable housing being built by Bromford Homes. An 80-bed care facility is also currently under construction by Macc Care Group.

The new neighbourhood centre includes a convenience shop and space for another retail or food outlet, with the potential for an outdoor seating area and 48 modern apartments, 36 of which will be rented and retained by IM Properties.

It has also been designed with the environment in mind, with renewable green technology installed to provide power to the communal areas. Residents can benefit from an electric pool car for short journeys, electric car charging points and cycle storage for up to 40 bikes on site.
