Urban Body, the first physiotherapist in the Midlands to 3D print fully recyclable, customised orthotic insoles is creating bespoke insoles at Touchwood Shopping Centre from Thursday 12 May to and Friday 13 May.

The insoles help relieve ailments including foot, leg and back pain by cushioning the feet to improve posture, decreasing the chance of experiencing discomfort higher up the body.

The process begins with a digital foot scan. The orthotic insole is then created almost instantly with a 3D printer using soft TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane), an eco- friendly plastic which creates a very precise and breathable mould.

Phil Evans (pictured), Urban Body 's lead physiotherapist, said: “This innovative kit means the insole design is as accurate as possible for the patient 's foot, making an immeasurable difference in solving their unique support issues that lead to pain.

“These new orthotic insoles offer the mechanical strength to reinforce lots of walking and running while at the same time being soft and comfortable, offering a high tech but affordable upgrade to the traditional foam options which take weeks to be delivered. ”

Urban Body offers free assessments to new patients. The physiotherapy and rehabilitation clinic is based at the West Warwickshire Sports Club in Olton, and the team has more than doubled since the beginning of the pandemic.
