ABCC women’s network invited to ‘shake off the stiffness of desk life’ with new event launch
Female-identifying members of the Asian Business Chamber of Commerce (ABCC) are invited to a wellbeing-focused networking event featuring a movement session led by training gym JST MVE, alongside expert insights from legal and financial professionals.
It has been organised by the ABCC Women’s Network, and will take place at JST MVE on Thursday, 10 September from 12 pm to 2 pm.
Attendees will experience the ‘JST FLOW’ feel-good movement session designed to leave people energised, looser and clearer-headed.
The event will also feature insights from MMA fighter Rosi Sexton, financial adviser Jay Dhaliwal and ABCC President Monica Ghai.
Rosi Sexton is a former professional MMA fighter, osteopath, mathematician and advocate for health and wellbeing. A pioneer of women’s MMA, she became the first British woman to compete in the UFC and is also a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt.
Alongside her sporting career, Rosi holds a mathematics degree from Cambridge and a PhD in theoretical computer science, bringing a unique perspective on resilience, performance, problem-solving and maintaining wellbeing alongside a demanding career.
Jay Dhaliwal is a chartered independent financial adviser who helps working professionals, families and business owners make informed financial decisions through personalised financial planning. Her expertise includes retirement planning, investments, estate planning, tax-efficient wealth management and protection.
Monica Ghai is a legal director at Shakespeare Martineau LLP and specialises in family law. She has worked in family law for over 15 years and represents individuals in all aspects of divorce and financial remedy proceedings following breakdown of marriage, civil partnership or relationship.
Katrina Raipuri, manager of the Asian Business Chamber of Commerce, said: “We wanted to create something a little different with this event, giving members the opportunity to step away from their desks, shake off the stiffness of working life and focus on their wellbeing while making meaningful connections.
“The ABCC women’s network is about supporting women both professionally and personally, and this event brings those two elements together. Alongside an energising movement session, attendees will hear from inspiring women with expertise spanning wellbeing, finance and law, providing practical insights they can take into both their careers and everyday lives.
“We hope members will leave feeling refreshed, better connected and equipped with new perspectives to support their wellbeing and success.”
