Accountancy firm welcomes new hires
Edwards Accountants have grown their team within their Research & Development, Auditing and Tax Advisory services.
Neel Godhania in the Audit & Accountancy department, Akhil Nair in Tax, and Jake Bishop in Auditing all joined in September this year, adding to the new talent which has landed at the firm since the beginning of 2021.
Akhil Nair said: “I joined Edwards Accountants because of their great reputation as an employer. They 're a large independent firm with great opportunities to work with a Tax Director. There are lots of great learning opportunities, as well as good career progression. ”
Edwards ' prides themselves on employee wellbeing, so they were pleased to hear that their commitment to employee progression was a factor for those applying.
The firm has also taken on new employees over the past winter, spring, and summer months.
The first recruits joined back in January, when the country was in lockdown. Due to the work-from-home Government initiative, Anne Ward, who joined as an audit manager, and Sharon Gill, who joined as an accounts senior, spent their first few months working online. However, since their return to the office over the summer, they have undergone full in-person training.
Sharon Gill said: “I joined Edwards as a Chartered Accountant looking for further progression. After working in industry for five years, I was looking for a chance to practice, and more exposure to accounts. After completing my ACCA, I was looking for a position that would allow me to put my knowledge into practice. ”
Spring and summer were busy seasons for the firm, with the Research & Development department observing huge growth, comprising five new additions: Lewis Thompson, Leyton Hines, Laura MacDonald, Minhaal Abdulhussein and Luke Hastings.
Edwards are proud of their inclusive workplace culture, taking time to invest in the growth and development of their team. The new recruits have loved the collaborative working environment, relishing the ability to get involved with client accounts from the very beginning.
Director, Neil Taylor, said: “Honest, diligent, and ambitious, we are passionate about our client 's business and constantly strive to improve our service by every means that technology and industry can offer us.
“We are delighted with the expansion of Edwards Accountants, and the recruitment of fresh new talent. At Edwards, we promote a genuine work ethic, with the directors and managers developing an open-door policy, always welcoming conversations with our new starters. We hope to see the company continue to grow and expand in the coming months and years. ”
