Accountants put baking skills to the test as part of Mental Health Awareness Week

A leading accountancy firm took part in a bake-off challenge as part of Mental Health Awareness Week.

Fruition Accountancy headed to the Big Birmingham Bake, where 26 members of the team exchanged office wear for aprons and put their baking skills to the test.

The day included a themed discussion around how the ingredients of baking a successful cake can mirror the ingredients needed within a successful accountancy practice.

From getting the right balance of people and processes, to understanding that timing, preparation and teamwork are all critical to achieving the best results.

John Moore, director at Fruition Accountancy, said: “Mental Health Awareness Week is always an important week in our calendar, and our annual Team Development Day gives us the opportunity to step away from the pressures of day-to-day work, spend quality time together and reinforce the culture we are building at Fruition.

“There were definitely some hidden baking talents within the team, although I think we’ll still stick to accountancy rather than opening a bakery just yet!”
