Accountants launch charity quiz night
Teams are being invited to show off their general knowledge for a good cause by signing up to the annual Alexander Accountancy charity quiz night, held in aid of YMCA Burton.
Registrations are being taken for this year’s fun event, taking place on Thursday October 8, which will be held again at Burton Albion's Pirelli Stadium, in Princess Way.
Teams of six people can take part. With arrivals at 6.30pm, the quiz will start promptly at 7pm. Tables of six cost £145, including a buffet meal and donation to YMCA Burton.
The 2026 quiz will raise funds for Alexander Accountancy’s longstanding charity partner, YMCA Burton, a vital local charity providing supportive and safe housing for homeless people across three sites in East Staffordshire.
Last year networking group Business Focus Burton took home the trophy. The quiz raised £5650 in total, including £2000 in match funding from Barclays.
Alexander Accountancy chairman David Alexander said: "We are pleased to invite local businesses and friends to our annual charity quiz night at the Pirelli Stadium.
“It is always a fantastic, competitive evening that brings our community together for an incredibly vital cause. Every pound raised directly supports YMCA Burton in their mission to provide safe housing and critical crisis care for the homeless in East Staffordshire. Let's see who can take the trophy this year while making a real difference."
Paula Senior, of YMCA Burton, said: “We are incredibly grateful for Alexander Accountancy’s continued support. The annual quiz night is vital for raising funds to help us provide safe housing and crisis care. The demand for our services is the highest ever across our services and we are grateful for the support we receive from Alexander Accountancy.
“We encourage local businesses to sign up, have fun and help us tackle homelessness in our community. "
Alexander Accountancy fundraises for YMCA Burton throughout the year. During the 2025/26 financial year the firm raised £7750 in total while the Charity Crazy Golf Day, held at the Woodland Adventure Golf course at Branston Golf and Country Club in June, achieved £950 in donations.
