Acivico completes water infrastructure upgrade at wellbeing centre

Acivico has successfully completed a major water infrastructure upgrade at Handsworth Wellbeing Centre, helping to improve the reliability and resilience of a facility that provides important services to the local community.

The project involved replacing an ageing cold water storage tank that had become difficult to access and maintain.

The existing system was replaced with a new ground-level insulated cold water storage tank and a modern boosted pump set, providing a more reliable and maintainable solution for the centre's long-term needs.

To minimise disruption, the works were carefully planned and carried out outside of normal operating hours, allowing the wellbeing centre to continue supporting local residents throughout the programme.

The project was delivered through close collaboration between Acivico, Dodd Group, Pipefast Industrial Services Ltd and Birmingham Water Services, whose teams worked together to complete the upgrade safely and efficiently.

Jon Griffiths, senior mechanical engineer at Acivico, said: “By replacing the ageing system with a new ground-level installation, we have improved access for maintenance and enhanced the reliability of the building's water supply.

“Delivering the works out of hours also meant that services at the wellbeing centre could continue with minimal disruption.”
