Addfield makes promotions in top team

Staffordshire based manufacturer, Addfield Environmental Systems, has promoted two members of its top management team.

Steve Lloyd, previously managing director, has been appointed as the firm's new chief executive and operations director, Derek Carr, is stepping up as managing director.

Steve has held the role as managing director for nearly 14 years, and since his appointment the firm has flourished, exporting to more than 110 countries and leading the industry in supplying agricultural, medical, aquacultural, and specialist bespoke incinerators alongside pet cremators.

Derek joined the business in 2010 as general manager.

Addfield said Derek had an immediate impact on the business rising to the role of production director in 2015 and then operations director in 2018.

Derek helped in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the company whilst Steve focused on developing and expanding the high-capacity division which has since become its own business venture, known as Addfield Projects.

On his appointment, Derek commented: “I am very proud of the team here at Addfield, I recognise our growth is down to a clear vision of building the most robust, reliable and thermally efficient incinerators on the market.

"Every business will have challenges and competition, we have grown because we have direction and a team that accepts this ethos.

"This is shown with our growth, repeat business and investment into the industry through innovative designs.

"Starting as the general manager in 2010 with three team members the journey has been a tough but a rewarding one, I thank Steve for trusting me and the management team with his business, we have a clear plan on growing the business and we are excited to implement these changes in the coming months. ”

Steve added: “It has always been the natural progression for Derek to take over the managing director 's role within the Addfield Companies.

"He is well respected and held in very high regard by all our employees, customers, and partners around the world. Derek has played a leading role in the growth and development of Addfield over the years, without him we would not have achieved the level of success that we enjoy today.

"His continued dedication and commitment to the business its employees and partners makes him the perfect fit to oversee the day-to-day operations and continued growth of the Addfield businesses.

"I feel proud to be handing over control to such a capable and dedicated young man who has developed and honed his skill base right here at Addfield."
