Affordable housing expert joins law firm’s real estate team
Real estate lawyer David Perry has joined HCR Law’s Real Estate team as a partner in its Birmingham office.
Previously a Partner at a London-headquartered law firm, where he acted as national head of affordable housing, David (pictured) is a well-respected expert in his field, ranked in Chambers and Partners and recognised as a Leading Partner in social housing by the Legal 500.
David has built a strong reputation for advising on buy and sell side transactions across the affordable housing and build-to-rent market, specialising in residential development, housing and regeneration schemes.
His appointment to HCR Law's Real Estate team reflects ongoing growth across the built environment, following the recent additions of social housing and retirement living expert Louise Drew, also based at the Birmingham office, and commercial property and data centre specialist Lauren Perdikis.
David said: “HCR Law has made a strong name for itself in Birmingham and beyond, and with its impressive growth nationwide, I’m excited to join the firm at such a pivotal time.
“Affordable housing remains a hot topic for the UK. I’m more determined than ever to advise clients nationwide, supporting registered providers, housebuilders, developers and funders to help deliver the housing stock our country so urgently needs.”
Mark Carter, head of Local Government and Public Sector, added: “It’s a pleasure to welcome David to HCR Law – his reputation in the real estate industry precedes him and we are delighted to have someone of his calibre join the team.”
David will be based at HCR Law’s Birmingham office, located in Colmore Business District.
The office has demonstrated significant expansion in response to rising client demand, with David’s appointment following the recent addition of Peter Brewer, who joined as a Partner in the Dispute Resolution team.
Rebecca Leask, head of the Birmingham office, said: “We’re pleased to welcome David to HCR Law. His expertise in residential development and affordable housing will make him a valuable addition to the team.
“It’s fantastic to see our Birmingham office continue to grow, with specialist lawyers choosing to further their careers with HCR Law.”
