Applications invited to become Lichfield and Tamworth Chamber’s next charity partner

The process to select the Lichfield and Tamworth Chamber of Commerce’s next charity partner begins today.

The Chamber is inviting applications to become its charity partner for the next two years.

Applicants will be whittled down to a shortlist of three, ahead of a breakfast event taking place on Tuesday 9 April where Lichfield and Tamworth Chamber members will cast their votes.

The three shortlisted organisations will be given the opportunity to make presentations to Chamber members ahead of the vote.

The winning organisation will succeed Tamworth-based Number Eight, a charity which supports pregnant mothers and their newborn babies.

Since being chosen in 2022, Number Eight have received an amazing level of support from members both in monetary terms - with more than £2,500 raised – as well as businesses giving up their time as volunteers.

Operations director Dawn Candy said: “Before entering the process back in March 2022 we had no idea the Lichfield and Tamworth Chamber offered such support to charities.

“We are so thankful of the support offered by the business community. The association of being voted for by members of the Chamber as their chosen charity has also helped us immensely in securing grants from key corporate businesses and funding streams and provided a massive increase in awareness if what we do.”

Lichfield and Tamworth Chamber president Fiona Rouse said: “It has been so satisfying to see how Dawn and her team at Number Eight have grown into the partnership with our members for the last two years and to hear the success they have enjoyed.

“We look forward to receiving applications from across the voluntary sector in Lichfield and Tamworth and would encourage our members to put 9 April in their diary to come and help us decide on our next chosen charity.”

Charities interested in applying can do so via the application form, which must be completed by Wednesday 13 March.
