Applications open for restart grants
Applications are now open for firms to apply for restart grants, available via Solihull Council.
In March, government announced the introduction of grant support for non-essential retail, hospitality, accommodation, leisure, personal care and gym and sport businesses in England.
This support will take the form of a one-off grant funding scheme in financial year 2021-2022 known as a Restart Grant.
The Restart Grant scheme is for businesses on the rating list only.
Grants of up to £6,000 will be paid to non-essential retail business premises, to help them reopen safely.
Grants of up to £18,000 will be allocated to the hospitality, accommodation, leisure, personal care, gym and sports business sectors. Some of these businesses may open later due to plans set out in the Government 's roadmap and will be more impacted by restrictions when they do reopen.
The Restart Grant will not be paid automatically and an online application must be made. More details of the eligibility criteria, the amount that will be paid and how to apply can be found on Solihull Council 's website https://www.solihull.gov.uk/COVID-19/Business-grants
The scheme closes on 30 June.
