Six apprentices and a day nursery who all work with Midlands-based PTP Training Ltd have won through to a leading multi-cultural awards ceremony.

The trainees and nursery have all been announced finalists in the Multicultural Apprenticeship Awards 2023.

PTP Training, which trades as Performance Through People and is part of the BCTG Group, is an experienced provider of training for employers across the region.

The annual Multicultural Apprenticeship Awards celebrate the talent and diversity of black, Asian and minority ethnic apprentices across the UK, and recognise the efforts of their employers and learning providers.

Finalists from PTP include Heena Rana of Walsall Council, in the Charity, Voluntary and Public Services category.

Mercedesz Deak of Allsopp & Associates and Janete Franque of Tiddlywinks Nursery, which has several sites across the Midlands, are both in the Health, Medical and Social Care category.

Also shortlisted are Ferdinand Hylton of Samuel Wilkes (Engineering) of Walsall, Honey Warner of PTP, and Simran Dhillon of Happy Kidz Day Care, all in the Intermediate Apprentice of the Year category.

Meanwhile, Happy Kidz Day Care of Wolverhampton is a finalist in the Small, Medium Employer of the Year category.

Winners are scheduled to be announced at the Multicultural Apprenticeship Awards 2023 dinner which will be held at the Eastside Rooms in Birmingham on Thursday 5 October.

Rob Colbourne (pictured), chief executive of PTP Training, said: “We 're thrilled that six of our apprentices have reached the finals of these national awards.

“We 're also so pleased that Happy Kidz Day Care has been shortlisted for an award, as it 's so important to celebrate not only the fantastic apprentices but also the employers and learning providers that support them.

“The Multicultural Apprenticeship Awards help us to raise the awareness of our apprenticeships and the diversity of the young people we work with, along with the great work our partner organisation is doing. ”
