Apprenticeships to be showcased at festival

The Festival of Apprenticeships powered by Pathway Group in association with JP Morgan will be taking place on 8 July at Millennium Point.

The event, sponsored by Aston University, EY and Travis Perkins, is one-stop shop for anyone looking to find out more about apprenticeships. It will cover discovering opportunities with organisations first-hand, through to guidance on how to apply for and make the most of an apprenticeship.

With top employers and learning providers highlighting their talent and promoting opportunities to future apprentices, the event will serve as a showcase of excellence in the sector. Exhibitors include the BBC, Severn Trent, BT, RSM, Compass Group, BCU, Google, Rolls-Royce and many more.

The event is aimed primarily at school leavers and those 16-24-year-olds looking for future career opportunities. The campaign will also target key career influencers such as teachers ,parents and carers.

The fair is celebration that not only promotes the value apprenticeships can deliver for young people, but also gives them the knowledge and expertise about how to apply for the right one for them.

Safaraz Ali (pictured), founder of Festival of Apprenticeships: said: “We launched the festival because students always told us there wasn 't enough information out there about apprenticeships. We hope that our event will fill that void and give students more choice in their career options. ”

The event will feature the following:

Career Zone - Students will have the opportunity to visit a range of stands hosted by Employers and Learning providers showcasing their vast array of opportunities.

Skills Zone - An area where visitors can learn about online resources, they can access to upskill themselves.

Employability Zone - An area where visitors can learn how to find out about career opportunities, cv writing and completing applications.

Networking Zone - An area where visitors, exhibitors and apprentices can meet and network.

Main Stage - An area where visitors can hear from apprentices sharing their stories and journeys.
