Artistic creations raise £2,000 for charity
A series of drawings that have captured the imagination of Brummies during the pandemic has now raised £2,000 for the charity SIFA Fireside.
Former Birmingham Post editor Stacey Barnfield (pictured), who is director of PR agency Edwin Ellis Creative Media, turned his hand to a new venture 'Draw My City ' in which he has created a series of watercolour prints of iconic city locations.
The project started with the creation of watercolour prints of locations such as Snobs, the Town Hall, Rotunda and Mr Egg.
Drawing on its success, Stacey has expanded the range to include a Birmingham Colour Palette, featuring Old Bus Cream, Mr Egg Yellow, Jewellery Quarter Gold, Tikka Red and Sabbath Black.
For each print sold, Stacey donates £5 directly to SIFA Fireside.
The addition of the Birmingham Colour Palette earlier this month has led to a soar in demand, with the total funds raised reaching £2,000.
Stacey said: “I 'm a keen volunteer and supporter of SIFA Fireside and I 've enjoyed seeing the 'Draw My City ' project grow and expand and be received so positively.
“From landmarks to favourite places and now, its iconic colour reference - it has been fantastic.
“It all started with a few posts on social media and when I added the Birmingham Colour Palette to the range this year, orders went wild!
“It 's been great to help raise vital funds to support the running of SIFA Fireside, but also to be able to bring Brummies together and lift spirits in a time when it 's been really needed. ”
The full range of prints are still available and can be found on Stacey 's website here.
