Midlands Arts Centre (MAC) is inviting applications for new charity trustees and trading subsidiary board directors to join the organisation.

The centre is seeking individuals who share its ambition to promote innovative, creative activity and to embed arts and culture as a meaningful part of everyday life.

Deborah Kermode, chief executive and artistic director, said: “MAC plays a vital role in Birmingham’s cultural and economic life, combining artistic ambition with strong commercial performance.

“As we look to the future, we are keen to connect with business leaders who want to use their skills and experience to support a purpose-driven organisation.

“Joining our Charity or Trading Boards is an opportunity to contribute to the long-term sustainability of one of the region’s most important cultural institutions, while helping to ensure that arts and culture remain accessible, relevant and resilient for our communities.”

MAC is particularly keen to hear from individuals with experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Commercial and financial leadership, including income generation, budget management and financial oversight
  • Environmental sustainability, including climate action and embedding sustainable organisational practice
  • Senior leadership in the arts, with strong operational understanding
  • Customer-focused trading activity, ideally in hospitality, retail or conferencing.
  • Experience operating with complex organisations, including group or subsidiary structures.
