Arts Council England on the lookout for Midlands area chair
Arts Council England, the development agency for arts and culture, is recruiting for a new Chair for the Midlands Area Council.
As well as leading the Area Council and acting as an advocate for creativity and culture in the Midlands, the successful candidate will help to set the strategic direction of the organisation and make key investment and policy decisions.
The candidate will also be a member of the Arts Council’s governing body – National Council - and a trustee of the charity.
Arts Council England is at an exciting and interesting point in their history, with the current National Portfolio set to continue until 2027.
The council is currently at the midway point of their 10-year strategy – ‘Let’s Create’.
In this role, the successful candidate will play a critical part in shaping the area council membership and direction. Responsibilities will include preparation, implementation and delivery of the next investment round.
As a member of National Council, the candidate will be a part of the council’s non-executive board holding overall responsibility for the governance of the organisation.
In the Midlands the Arts Council Is home to some of England’s most culturally, economically significant and ambitious cities, alongside vibrant rural landscapes and communities.
