Asian business awards return, marking 38 years of the region’s largest ethnic business body

The Asian Business Chamber of Commerce (ABCC) has launched its annual awards night, taking place at the National Conference Centre in Solihull on 27 November.

The night will celebrate the success of businesses across eight awards categories, spanning from young achievers and startups to professional services.

One business will also be crowned the overall ABCC Business of the Year in an event marking the 38th anniversary of the ABCC, with over 350 delegates expected on the night.

ABCC Co-presidents Neelam Afzal and Sapreena Kumari will also hand over the President’s Award to an individual who has gone above and beyond in helping the Asian Business community thrive.

Award applications are open for the following categories:

  • Outstanding Start-Up Business of the Year
  • Outstanding Small Business of the Year
  • Outstanding Young Achiever of the Year
  • Outstanding Female Entrepreneur of the Year
  • Outstanding Male Entrepreneur of the Year
  • Outstanding Professional Services Business of the Year
  • Outstanding Charity of the Year
  • Outstanding Contribution to Diversity & Inclusion

Last year’s Business of the Year was GirlDreamer, a non-profit organisation that empowers young women of colour, whose founder Amna Akthar also collected the Outstanding Female Entrepreneur of the Year prize.

Applying for the awards are free and shortlisted businesses will receive a complimentary ticket for the awards night.

Anjum Khan, director of the ABCC, said: “We’re excited for this year’s awards which return to the National Conference Centre. 

“The awards are free to enter and open to all businesses regardless of whether they are a member of the Asian Business Chamber of Commerce or the Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce.”

“These awards are more than a ceremony — they’re a platform to honour the stories, struggles, and successes that inspire progress and unity.

“We warmly invite businesses of all sizes and sectors to get involved, nominate, and join us in celebrating the people and enterprises that help our economy thrive.”

Early bird tickets for a corporate table of 10 are now live exclusively for members of the ABCC, costing £1,000 plus VAT.

General sale tickets are priced at £120 plus VAT with a corporate table of 10 priced £1200 plus VAT.

Platinum tables are also available on a first come first served basis which costs £1500 plus VAT.
