Members of the Asian Business Chamber of Commerce (ABCC) can discover how apprenticeships and T Levels can help an organisation attract, develop, and retain new talent through a new workshop happening next month.

The event, titled ‘From Recruitment to Retention: Making Apprenticeships Work for Your Business’ will take place on Monday, 23 November at Precision Health Technology Accelerator. It is sponsored by The Development Manager.

It comes during a time where skills shortages continue to challenge businesses across all sectors with many employers unaware that apprenticeships can be one of the most cost-effective recruitment and workforce solutions available.

Funding, grants and levy transfer opportunities received through apprentice schemes also help businesses offset training costs while developing future talent.

Attendees can learn more about the differences between apprenticeships and T levels and ways of accessing funding and support.

The workshop will be delivered by Louise Liddell (pictured) from The Development Manager (TDM), Saagar Hans from Lloyds Banking Group, and Helen Newman from Joseph Chamberlain Sixth Form College.

Louise Liddell is an engagement manager at TDM, where she leads employer engagement and partnership activity that supports apprenticeship growth, skills development, and workforce transformation.

She works with employers across the region to help them attract, develop, and retain digital talent.

Saagar Hans is an award-winning apprentice at Lloyds Banking Group and a passionate advocate for apprenticeships and early careers.

Through his own apprenticeship journey, he has seen first-hand how apprenticeships can develop confidence, professional skills and long-term career opportunities.

Named Lloyds Banking Group’s Intermediate/Advanced Apprentice of the Year 2026, Saagar has shared his journey with hundreds of students and young people and has contributed to panel discussions and conversations focused on early careers and empowering the next generation of talent.

Helen Newman is part of the Careers team at Joseph Chamberlain Sixth Form College, helping connect students with employers to create valuable work experience opportunities.

She works with businesses to build partnerships that benefit both students and employers, giving young people the chance to develop essential workplace skills while helping businesses nurture future talent, gain fresh perspectives and support their local community.

The event is ideal for business owners, directors and professionals in HR and recruitment. Learning and development teams, line managers and organisations looking to develop future talent are also welcomed.

Speaking about the event, ABCC manager Katrina Raipuri, said: “Apprenticeships are a valuable way for businesses to address skills shortages, invest in future talent and upskill their existing workforce. For family-run businesses in particular, they can help bridge skills gaps, support succession planning and build long-term resilience.

“Our first business workshop on apprenticeships will help employers explore opportunities around funding, levy transfers and working with education providers, enabling them to attract talent, develop existing staff and build the skills needed for future growth.”

Exhibition stands are also available for the event for £250+ VAT. This includes the company logo and a 100 word profile added to the digital delegate pack and an opportunity to sell products and services.
