Azets acquires medical services team and client portfolio from BDO
Azets has announced that BDO’s medical services and client portfolio will join the firm.
The transaction strengthens Azet’s specialist healthcare practice, reinforcing its ambition to become the UK’s number one provider of accounting and advisory services to the healthcare sector.
It will bring a number of healthcare clients to Azets, including GP practices and Primary Care Networks (PCNs), together with a team of 16 specialist healthcare professionals led by Sarah Lock, partner, Juliette Maguire, director, and Louise Barter, director.
Following completion, Azets, a UK top 10 accountancy and business advisory firm, will support more than 600 GP practices, 3,500 GP partners and locums and 100 PCNs.
The transferring team join colleagues in Azets' Birmingham and Ipswich offices, further strengthening the firm's presence in the East of England following its acquisition of Ensors last year and adding further scale and specialist expertise to these regions.
The transaction brings together two highly respected healthcare advisory teams with a shared commitment to delivering specialist advice and exceptional service to healthcare professionals.
Sarah Lock, Juliette Maguire and Louise Barter, together with the wider team, will join Azets following completion and become part of the firm's established Healthcare practice.
Peter Gallanagh, (pictured) UK&I chief executive at Azets, said: "This is an important strategic step for Azets and further reinforces our ambition to become the UK's number one provider of specialist accounting and advisory services to the healthcare sector.
“The team joining us from BDO brings deep sector expertise, strong client relationships and an outstanding reputation for supporting healthcare professionals.
“Together, we are further strengthening the breadth and depth of expertise within our healthcare practice and enhancing our ability to support clients through an increasingly complex operating environment.
"The transaction also demonstrates our continued commitment to investing in the East of England following our acquisition of Ensors last year.
“We are delighted to welcome Sarah, Juliette, Louise and the wider team to Azets and look forward to the opportunities we can create together.”
Sarah Lock said: "We have built a highly regarded specialist team with deep expertise and long-standing relationships across the healthcare sector.
“Joining Azets creates an exciting opportunity to continue delivering the specialist support our clients value while becoming part of one of the UK's leading healthcare practices.
“There is strong alignment between our organisations in how we support clients and develop trusted, long-term relationships, and we are excited about the next chapter for our clients and our people.
“We are also incredibly grateful to BDO for its support over the years and for helping create the opportunity for us to continue our growth and development within a specialist healthcare practice.”
