David Thompson, Nick Skidmore and Stephen Tracey are all gearing up for a 250-mile trip for Birmingham Children 's Hospital Charity.

David Thompson, Nick Skidmore and Stephen Tracey, who work at the Walsall office of Azets, the UK 's largest regional accountancy firm and business advisor to SMEs, are raising funds for Birmingham Children 's Hospital Charity by cycling 250-miles over three days.

The trio depart alongside 30+ supporters on 21 April 2022, with the first leg of the trip a gruelling 95-mile ride to Dover. The team will cycle a further 80 miles from Calais to Bruges on day two, before completing the final 75 miles on day three.

David, Nick and Stephen are taking on the challenge as part of Azets ' charity partnership with Birmingham Children 's Hospital Charity, which includes a pledge to raise £25k in 12 months under its 'Strive for £25k ' campaign, which will cover the cost of a full-time peer support worker for Forward Thinking Birmingham.

Forward Thinking Birmingham is the city 's youth mental health partnership for 0-25s and is supported by Birmingham Children 's Hospital Charity 's 'Fight for All the Feels ' campaign.

Stuart Ellison (pictured), partner at Azets Walsall, said: “Earlier this year Azets made a commitment to raising £25k for Birmingham Children 's Hospital Charity - and this incredible effort by David, Nick and Stephen underlines our dedication to reaching that target. It 's a huge challenge for an equally worthy cause and I 'd like to both thank and congratulate all the riders, in particular those representing Azets ' Walsall office. ”

Helen Miles, corporate fundraising manager at Birmingham Children 's Hospital Charity, said: “This challenge is a celebration of the lengths our supporters will go to help strengthen the life-changing work performed by our incredible hospital. The funds raised will help to support innovation, development, research and world-class care for the children and families in our care. We 're so thankful to David, Nick and Stephen for their participation and fundraising efforts and we 'll be supporting them through every mile. ”

Future fundraising under Azets ' partnership with Birmingham Children 's Hospital Charity includes dedicated charity events run by Azets, involvement in external events run by the charity and other partners, and volunteering opportunities at Azets ' 14 offices across the Midlands, Shropshire, and Welsh Borders.

As part of its contribution, Azets employees will also provide mentorship for children and young people requiring professional support, including CV reviews and work experience.
