‘Big Hike’ returns in support of mental health awareness
Birmingham Mind are bringing back their Big Hike trekking challenge to raise funds for mental health awareness.
The charity will be taking on the Edale Skyline Challenge which is a 22km trek across the Shropshire Hills.
Over the past two years, fundraisers have hiked Yr Wyddfa and the Shropshire Hills as part of the Big Hike challenges and have raised almost £6,500 for Birmingham Mind.
Fundraisers would love to raise £10,000 by the end of the next challenge and are looking for corporate supporters to sign up and get involved.
All funds raised for this challenge go towards supporting Birmingham Mind’s Central Wellbeing Hub located at the Bullring and Grand Central, which last year supported over 2,000 people with their mental health.
Danny Booth, director of Business Development at Birmingham Mind will be joining the Big Hike this year.
He said: “Our annual Big Hike is a great way for people to come together to take on a tough but incredibly rewarding challenge, whilst raising vital funds that keep our services available where and when people need them.
“If you want to take on your own personal challenge alongside us, or join with colleagues or friends, you’ll be part of a team doing great things to help people with their mental health in Birmingham and Solihull.”
