Bira supports Independents' Day with membership offer

The British Independent Retailers Association (Bira) is supporting this weekend's Independents' Day UK with a special membership offer.

Bira is offering three-months' free membership to retailers who sign up between July 2 and 5, to coincide with Independents' Day UK this Saturday and Sunday (July 3-4).

This year's Independents' Day UK, in partnership with Local Rewards, is expected to be bigger than ever - and not just because it runs across an entire weekend, rather than on just one day.

The aim of Independents' Day UK is to drive footfall to local high streets, and encourage shoppers to spend a few more pounds there over the weekend.

Bira CEO Andrew Goodacre (pictured) said: “Independents Day UK is with us again - this time better and over a whole weekend. This year is probably the most important year for indie retail, as businesses look to rebuild following the pandemic.
