Birmingham financial planner launches new journal to help people with financial habits
A Birmingham-based chartered financial planner has launched her own guided financial journal to help more people take control of their money and build better financial habits.
Katriana Lowers (pictured) a chartered financial planner at Colmore Partners, has launched The Rich Formula: Your Financial Journal.
The journal takes readers through their finances step by step, beginning with what they want their money to help them achieve before helping them understand where they are now and what needs to happen next.
The Rich Formula covers financial goal setting and vision planning, income and spending, budgeting, savings and emergency funds, debt management, investing and long-term wealth building, retirement planning, protection and insurance.
Prompts, trackers, check-ins and challenges are built throughout the journal to help readers put what they learn into practice and review their progress over the course of the year.
Katrania, a Chartered Financial Planner working in Birmingham, developed The Rich Formula after seeing how often people knew they wanted to improve their finances but struggled with where to begin and how to turn good intentions into action.
She said: “So many people have had that moment where they think, ‘I really need to sort my finances out’, but then life gets in the way or the whole thing feels too overwhelming to tackle.
“I wanted to create something that gives people a clear place to start and then walks them through it in a logical order. You work out what you actually want your money to help you achieve, get clear on where you are today and then start putting the foundations in place to move forward.”
The journal has been designed to be written in, returned to and built upon throughout the year, creating a record of each reader’s financial progress rather than something they read once and put back on a shelf.
Katrania added: “Working in financial planning means I’m surrounded by this every day, but most people aren’t. There is an enormous amount of information about money online, and sometimes that creates another problem because you have no idea what to focus on first.
“The aim with The Rich Formula was to bring the key areas together in one structured journey and make them practical. By the end of the year, I want someone to understand their finances better, know where their money is going, have better habits in place and have a clearer plan for where they want to go next.”
The Rich Formula is suitable for people starting from scratch as well as those who are already saving or investing but want greater structure around their finances.
The journal is available now through Amazon.
