Search marketer Michael Farr, founder of mff marketing, has been shortlisted twice at the 2026 Midland Marketing Awards.

Michael is a finalist for both Best Use of Data and Marketing Leader of the Year 2026.

The Midland Marketing Awards celebrate outstanding marketing talent, impactful campaigns and regional excellence across the Midlands.

Marketers from leading organisations across the region have been shortlisted across 10 award categories.

The winners will be announced on 24 September at the Burlington Hotel in Birmingham.

Michael has been shortlisted for Marketing Leader of the Year for his work building a community where marketers can share their experiences of Artificial Intelligence through networking events, webinars, university guest lectures and workshops for local businesses.

The initiative brings together both academics and marketing practitioners to share AI test-and-learn experiences, what has worked and, just as importantly, what hasn't.

Michael said: “I am delighted to be a finalist at the Midland Marketing Awards and to be recognised for my work building a community where marketers can share their experiences with AI.

“AI is uniquely changing the role of marketers in two ways. Firstly, through the way we use AI to improve our work, and secondly through the way AI is changing consumer behaviour, influencing how people search for information and products on platforms such as ChatGPT.

“Creating a community where marketers can openly share what has worked, and crucially what hasn't, has already benefited more than 50 marketers across the Midlands."

Alongside Marketing Leader of the Year, mff marketing has also been shortlisted for Best Use of Data for its AI-powered product category research platform, Prompto UK.

Designed to help businesses selling products online better understand their market, Prompto UK analyses thousands of product listings, customer reviews and social media discussions using Artificial Intelligence.

The platform provides actionable insights to help businesses improve their content strategy and increase their visibility

Michael said: “More shoppers are now using AI search engines to research products before making a purchase.

“For businesses wanting to increase their visibility in AI-generated recommendations on platforms like ChatGPT and Google Gemini, understanding consumer conversations in depth is essential.

“Prompto analyses thousands of product listings and consumer reviews to give businesses a clearer understanding of their product category and the content consumers genuinely care about.”
